I use AdToll, and it is a great alternative to AdSense and other advertising programs. I cannot use AdSense because I have poker, blackjack, and gambling related content. I have both a publishing, and an advertisig account.
Publising ads from AdToll takes no time at all, though, and the genre of my site is happily accepted. I can choose which advertising categories I do and don’t want to display, and even set my own prices, or let their automatic system set prices for me.
Now, on the advertising side, I have all the standard options, text ads, banner ads (of all shapes and sizes), video ads, image ads, and more. The ads are very easy to setup and use, with a huge variety of formats, all of which are completly customizable to fit your layout, design, and creativity. And picking when, where, and how you want to advertise is simple, yet thorough.
