Advertiser Spotlight: Focused - The Webmasters Forum

September 2nd, 2007 by Dan

Internet advertising can be quite scary for new players looking to market their products. With all the market skepticism and talk of fraud it can scare off new advertisers looking to invest some of their hard earned dollar.

For this reason we like to promote our Advertisers who have had positive experiences using our service. This is our first Advertiser Spotlight whereby we are featuring Focused.org, a relatively new Webmaster community. The owner, Sohan found AdToll and was impressed with the perception of our service so gave it a go… below you will find what Sohan had to say about AdToll.

Focused.org - The Webmasters Forum

Hey, my name is Sohan Tanna. I’m from England in the UK, and run many websites.

One of the websites I run is Focused.org. Focused is an free online webmasters community which covers a vast range of topics, and has a decent sized user base. My mission was to increase the user base and get more active members. Over the months, I have tried many major and small advertising companies and none were getting me quality results at a good price.

A few weeks ago, I was reading up on DigitalPoint forums, another forum I visit often, and I found AdToll.com and I thought to myself, I’ve heard that somewhere. So I clicked the link, and it led me to the site.

The first thing I noticed was a high alexa rank and a quality design, so I figured the site could be trusted.

Then I checked the RON (Run of network) pricing, and was shocked at their rates! $50 for over 2,400 clicks! That was a good rate for guaranteed clicks, so I immediately made a campaign.

A few days later about 20-40% of all clicks started to convert into new regular posting members! That meant I was paying around 10 cents for a new member!

I was amazed, and I told all my friends and family about the network – who were very interested to start their own campaigns!

A few days later, I noticed Adtoll allowed me to sell ads on my site for a fixed price per week. This looked like a good opportunity for my users to advertise on my site.

My forum has changing content, and Adsense is contextual, so it made sense to give it a go. I use the new Default Ad feature, so that it shows Adsense ads, and if a customer buys an ad it shows their ad. It made a win - win situation, and will increase my revenue a lot!
