How many “plays” did your Video Ad receive?

December 1st, 2007 by Dan

Video Ads

Our Video Ads require two clicks to redirect the user to the Advertiser’s site. The first click is a “play” click whereby the user starts viewing the video. From there, if they choose, they can click again and be taken to the Advertiser’s site.

This two step process is unique to Video Ads and results in an extra piece of data an Advertiser may find very useful - the number of times their video was “played”.

We did think ahead when building our Video Ads so we actually record the number of “plays” each video receives. Up until now, Advertiser’s only had statistics showing views and clicks but now we also provide (in graphical form) the number of “plays” the Video Ad has received.

Video Ad Stats - play data now available

The graph above is an example of the graph now available to Advertiser’s as part of their ad statistics. As you can see the “Plays” has been added (in blue). This clearly shows how well the Video Ad performed after being “played” - by comparing the “Clicks” line to the “Plays” line.

For those Advertiser’s who have booked a Video Ad, have a look at the ad statistics for the booking and this data will be available.

For those questioning whether to try our Video Ads then this is just another reason to give it a go!
